What we hold, and who can see it.
Last updated 11 September 2026. This policy explains what Langford Academy (“Langford”, “we”) collects, why, who can see it, how long it is kept and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to meet India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
This website, today
Langford is not open for accounts yet. On this website, the only personal data we collect is what you type into the early-access form.
- The early-access form. Your email address, and whether you signed up as a parent, a student or a teacher. The form is delivered to us by FormSubmit, a form-handling service, which passes it to our inbox by email.
- No tracking. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. It remembers the role you picked (parent, student or teacher) inside your own browser for the length of your visit, and that choice never leaves your device.
- Fonts. The typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which see your IP address as part of that request.
- Hosting. The website is hosted by Hostinger, whose servers keep standard access logs (IP address, browser and the pages requested) to run and protect the service.
We use your early-access details only to tell you when Langford opens where you are. We keep them until we have sent that message, then delete them unless you go on to create an account. You can ask us to delete them sooner by replying to any message we send you.
When accounts open: what we collect
- Account details. Name, email address, phone number if you give one, and which of the three roles the account holds.
- Children on a parent account. First name, class and board. A parent adds these, and a child does not need an account of their own for a parent to book on their behalf.
- Teacher verification. Government photo ID and qualification documents, used only to verify the teacher.
- Class records. What was booked, what was paid, whether attendance was marked, and any note the teacher wrote afterwards.
- Payment details. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by a payment aggregator authorised by the Reserve Bank of India. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Technical data. IP address, device and browser, and the pages visited. Used to keep the service running and to spot abuse.
Who can see what
This is the part most people actually want to know, so it is set out plainly.
- A parent sees attendance, fees and teacher notes for every child on their account, and the teacher’s public profile. They do not see other students in a class.
- A student sees their own record and the public profile of any teacher.
- A teacher sees the first name and class of students booked into their classes, and their attendance in those classes. They do not see a family’s payment details or anything about classes with other teachers.
- We can see all of it, and access is logged.
Why we are allowed to hold it
We process personal data with your consent, which you give when you sign up, book a class or publish one, and which you can withdraw at any time. We also process it where the law allows without separate consent: to provide a service you have asked for, to keep tax and accounting records, to meet safeguarding and other legal obligations, and to prevent fraud. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
How long we keep it
- Class and payment records: eight years, because Indian tax and company law require financial records to be kept for that long.
- Teacher verification documents: while the teacher is listed, and for six months after they leave, in case a safeguarding concern is raised later.
- Everything else in a closed account: deleted within 30 days of the account being closed.
Who we share it with
Our payment aggregator, our hosting and email providers, FormSubmit for the early-access form, and public authorities where the law requires it. Teachers see only what is set out above. We do not sell personal data, and we do not pass it to advertisers.
Children
Under Indian law anyone under 18 is a child. Accounts for children are set up and held by a parent or guardian, who gives consent on the child’s behalf and holds the payment and the record. We do not track children’s behaviour, and we do not show them targeted advertising.
Your rights
You can ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it, ask us to correct, complete or delete it, withdraw your consent, and nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to. Once accounts open you will be able to make these requests from your account settings; if you signed up for early access, reply to any message we send you. We will answer within the time the law sets. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies. If that changes, for analytics or anything else, we will update this section first and ask for your consent before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, once you have an account, tell you by email before the change takes effect.
